John Locke

Good old John. John is a character that I know a lot of people love, and a lot of people hate. He also is a character that might have your mind changing to how you feel about him in the beginning towards the end. Why he is so mysterious?

John's history is quite sad. He has gone through a lot, including giving his kidney to a man he thought loved him who after the surgery, never spoke to him again.

What's great about Locke is how he has this enormous faith and sense that they are all supposed to be there, and they just need to do what the Island tells them to do. He for sure is one that believes in fate and destiny. He is always saying "Can't you see this was meant to happen".

(On a side note-one day I was sitting in history class, and my teacher spits out the name John Locke-apparently he was a famous philosopher. Believe it or not she also said 2 other names from Lost and I can't remember who they were! So I wonder if that was part of the decision in naming the characters.)

John vs. Jack

Jack is always always saying things are just a coincidence and John is saying it all lead up this.
John even calls Jack a "man of science" and calls himself a "man of god"

ALTHOUGH. Let's think about this for a minute. If you had the amazing miracle John had at the very second he landed on the island, wouldn't you be so grateful for the island? John's main view for the whole series is "The island will tell us." Perhaps his healing of his legs is what made him so faithful.

For John Locke, this is all a huge puzzle, and the island will put the pieces together eventually.

Favorite Sawyer Nicknames!

Sawyer is one of my favorite characters from Lost even though I hated him at first. He is very funny and in fact says what is probably the funniest line in all of Lost. In the episode where Locke, Jack, and Sawyer are looking for Michael (who is searching for Walt), Locke asks Sawyer in the middle of the jungle, “Does any of this look familiar from when you were coming back?” Sawyer replies, “Oh yeah, look, it's my favorite leaf! How could I forget this place?”

I've gathered a list of my favorite nicknames Sawyer gives each of the main characters. Some nicknames are pretty self explanatory while others I've added some explanation.

Alex: “Sheena” (Alex hides Kate and Sawyer in a hole in the ground. Sawyer says, “Nice to meet you Sheena.” Sheena is a comic book character who lives in the jungle.)

Ana-Lucia: “Ponce de Leon” (when Ana-Lucia says that she's not lost, Sawyer says, “then tell me,Ponce de Leon, which way are we supposed to go?” Ponce de Leon was a Spanish explorer who tried finding the Fountain of Youth back in the 1500s.)

Benjamin Linus: “Yoda” (when Ben is trying to find out information from Sawyer about Kate, Sawyer says, “You're wasting your time, Yoda.”)

Bernard: “Norma Rae” (when Bernard is trying to recruit Sawyer to help make the S.O.S. sign, Sawyer says, “What, you got union trouble down at the sand factory, Norma Rae?” Norma Rae is a 1979 film about a woman who becomes involved in a labor union.)

Charlie: “Babynapper” (Charlie wants someone trustworthy to supervise the taking of food and Saywer says, “Like you, babynapper?”)

Claire: “Mamacita” (Claire, who is very pregnant at the time, walks by Sawyer and Sawyer says, “Hey, Mamacita, you want some fish?”)

Daniel Faraday: “Danny Boy” (Daniel says they can't change things and Sawyer says, “How do you know so much about this, Danny Boy?”)

Desmond: “Scotty” (Desmond, who is Scottish, wants to get to Jack to warn him of the freighter and Sawyer says, “Easy, Scotty, everything's cool.”)

Hurley: Sawyer gives Hurley several nicknames including “Kong,” “Big Foot,” “Deep Dish, and“International House of Pancakes” to name a few. My favorite though is “Stay Puft” (Hurley tells Sawyer to give him the manifest because he could use the points. Sawyer responds, “Well, gosh, you sure know how to butter a man up, Stay Puft.” Stay Puft was the giant marshmallow guy in the movie Ghostbusters.)

Jack: “Dr. Quinn” (Sawyer wonders why Jack is coming around when no one else will. Sawyer asks Jack, “How'd I score the house call, Dr. Quinn?” Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman was a tv show about Dr. Quinn, a female doctor.) Or, “Hoss” (Jack hands Sawyer a gun and Sawyer asks, “where'd you get the hardware, “Hoss?” Hoss was cowboy from the tv show Bonanza.)

Jin Kwon: “Mr. Miyagi” (Kate asks where the water came from. Sawyer says, “I traded Mr. Miyagi the last of my water for a fish he caught.”)

Kate: “Thelma” (Kate asks Sawyer for a gun and tells him he doesn't get to ask why. Sawyer says, “Well, Thelma, seeing as I got all the guns, I do get to ask why.” Thelma and Louise is a movie where two women become criminals.)

Libby: “Moonbeam” (Libby suggests no one be in charge of the food. Sawyer says, “Great plan, Moonbeam, and after that we can sing Kumbaya and do trust falls.”)

John Locke: “Mr. Clean” (Sawyer asks if Locke is sure that Michael went this way and Locke wants to know why he asks. Sawyer responds, “Oh, I don't know, Mr. Clean, I probably would have gone around Mt. Vesuvius.”)

Miles: “Mr. I-Speak-To-Dead-People” (Sawyer calls Miles this when he's talking Juliet out of leaving the island.)

Paulo: “Zorro” (Paulo tells Sawyer that he got the magazine from the magazine stack and that they share things now. Sawyer responds, “Listen, Zorro, it was in my stuff.”)

Rousseau: “Frenchie” (Saywer tells Ben that he'll grab “Frenchie and the kids,” meaning Rousseau, Alex, and Karl.)

Walt: “Tattoo” (Walt and Sawyer are talking about Ethan and Sawyer says, “Alrighty, Tattoo, where do you think Ethan came from?” Tattoo was the name of the small guy who ran up the main bell tower to ring the bell and shout, “The plane! The plane!” on the tv show Fantasy Island.)

The End

The more and more I think about the ending, I am actually happy with it. It took a while to decide though. As soon as it was over I still had to think a lot. But what would have made a better ending? My first answer to this questions, was to just see everyone get on the plane and have it end with the plane flying off. But that wouldn't be good! Because then-they wouldn't be together! Maybe a few of them would, but I like this ending! Their bonds with each other were so close that they had to create a place to find each other. Intresting how Ben couldn't go in-I'm GLAD he couldn't go in the church! It was SO good to see Boone and Shannon again though. And Charlie!!

Like I had been warned, there are so many unanswered questions, but I was afraid they would leave you completely hanging-like just ending with them on the island with no answer!! That'd be bad. How many of you all liked the ending?

Sun and Jin Submarine scene

Becky told me that I would cry in the episode "The Candidate." So I was expecting something sad, but not this! I definitely had some tears during this scene.

In Memory of Sun and Jin

Sun and Jin. My favorite characters. I just finished the episode where they die in the sub. So sad, but so sweet how Jin stays. Here are some clips.

Sun and Jin reunion. In my opinion, one of the happiest highlights in all of lost.

SEASON 6 BABY!

I thought I would jot down my thoughts WHILE I watched the first episdoe of season 6. It may remind you who haven't seen it in a long time what is happening. I just wrote it down as it happened...so it might not make sense..

Starts off with Jack on the plane....Kate is still on the island?? this can't be good.

What is GOING ON???

Jack is on the island AND the plane?? WHA??

When they wake up at the blown up hatch, did they time travel...is it blown up from when Eko or Desmond blows it up....or from 1977 when they were building it?

Something's not right. !! THE REASON IT DOESNT MAKE SENSE IS....if the bomb did work, and everything was back to normal on the plane...then why on the plane does Hurley say "I'm the luckiest man alive!"

Back on the island when Hurley is with hurt Sayid-I love it. Hurley's not one you see with a gun much. He hear's someone in the bushes and picks up a gun. "I've got a gun!! And I know how to shoot it!"

John never went on the walkabout....(On the plane, he tells Boone about his walk-about he went on. But he NEVER WENT ON THE WALK-ABOUT)

What John IS the smoke?

As for John on the plane....I feel bad for him:( So sad when he is the last one off to get in his chair.

Hold Up, HOLD UP!

All you people who have completed Lost. Am I supposed to have no idea what is going on in Season 5? Each episode gets more and more confusing! Sometimes, I don't even know if I am seeing a flash back or flash forward. And it doesn't help that they are in a different year, so it makes it harder to keep it straight. Everything is so confusing! When Hurley and Miles talked about time travel, that kind of answered some questions. This is why I love Hurley-he seems to ask the same questions I have! Episode 11 had a lot of talk on time travel. This episode is called "Whatever Happened, Happened." That in itself says something about time travel.

-We begin by seeing Hurley looking at his hand waiting for it to disappear. Miles says that they are actually in the present. But it is Ben's past. He says Sayid already shot Ben. I honestly can't comprehend it. Miles says everything already happened. So even though they have a knowledge of what is going to happen, they are still experiencing things for the first time. Hurley says, "If we already had this conversation, what am I going to say next?" -But Miles doesn't know. Because he says THEY are having the conversation for the first time.
-Miles then gives Hurley his gun and tells him to shoot him! Hurley says he can't because then he would never come in the helicopter in 30 years. Miles has to explain again that, he CAN die, because he already came to the island.

Saving Ben
How interesting, that Jack refuses to save little Ben. I was glad, why would he save the person who in 30 years was going to lock him up? Kate says you can't just let the boy die. Jack says it already happened, and it has nothing to with them. Kate says maybe he's the one who's supposed to save him. So Juliet sends Kate on a secret mission to take Ben to the others. Sawyer comes along later. The others capture them. Long story short-Richard says he can save him but Ben will loose his innocence and become one of them. AHA! So that is how Ben became a hostile. We also see for the first time Ben taking Alex.

Aaron
We finally see what happens after the scene they show alot- Ben, Sayid, Jack, Kate, and Sun. We see where Kate goes when she leaves. She goes to the store and Aaron is lost. She goes to see Cassidy! Cassidy says Sawyer jumped off the helicopter because he was a coward.

What I am MOST Confused About
Okay. So we have the 2 Islands. The plane crash people are on the Island with the zoo cages, and everyone else is on the main Island.
( -Why did Sun and Ben not wake up on the Island, like Jack, Kate, and Hurley?)
Ben and Sun are about to take a boat to the other Island. Sun hits Ben with an oar and goes herself. Meanwhile Ben is having either dreams, flashbacks, OR it is showing a flash forward...when he is talking to John Lock. Not crazy about seeing John again, but then again with the "3 years later" "3 years earlier" I am really confused. Okay- so when Ben and Lock finally go to the main Island they go to Dharmaville. This is where my confusion lies. If it is supposedly 1977..where is Sawyer, Jin, Juliette, Jack, Kate, Hurley, Miles, -Phil, Horris, and all the other people in Dharmaville? Sun is living in one of the houses waiting for John Lock. Why isn't all the people in the houses???????????????????

Ahhh man Season 1 was such a breeze. This show is good for your brain. It's killing me though!
